CFO 2020 Background

CFO 2020 is MassMutuals corporate finance transformation program aimed to maximize the potential to deliver value to the policy holder through financially based solutions and guidance. The transformation program focuses on four pillars:

  • Driving efficiencies and organizational effectiveness

  • Building a finance data and analytics center of excellence

  • Optimizing transactions with strategic partners

  • Creating a winning culture that attracts, develops & retains strong diverse talentThe CFO 2020 Transformation Management Team (TMT) was established to enable the office of the CFO to meet or exceed CFO 2020s goals along these four pillars and to foster a continuously evolving CFO organization. Role Summary CFO 2020 Transformation Lead (the Lead) reports directly to the Head of the Transformation Management Team and is responsible for supporting a portfolio of transformation initiatives and managing end-to-end project processes. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and tracking initiative risks and interdependencies, tracking progress and supporting reporting activities, and driving forward the Transformation Teams overall change management agenda.A successful Lead must be able to inspire people to action; think strategically across the business; advise, engage with and influence senior business leaders; drive change across the organization; identify opportunities to add value to the business; demonstrate strong financial acumen and analytical skills; and enable the organization and business leaders to execute the initiatives to completion. Lastly, this individual will regularly report on progress and performance and present to senior leaders. Key Responsibilities

  • Project management - Manage portfolio of transformation initiatives to support CFO 2020 vision and achieve overall program targets. Actively manage initiative teams by supporting end-to-end process, from roadmap development through implementation. Enforce quality throughout the process by challenging assumptions and maintaining consistency across programs.

  • Risk and interdependency management - Provide line of sight and transparency to senior executives on the progress of program implementation, proactively identify and communicate risks. Ensure critical interdependencies are identified and monitored throughout implementation process.

  • Analytics and reporting Proactively review and analyze financial health of initiative workstreams, report on the progress of workstream and initiatives, track performance of initiatives and identify key risks to value and execution. Work with Finance leads on matters relating to valuing initiatives and managing workstream budget. Complete projects/ad hoc analysis for Head of Transformation Management Team and the senior leader in Finance department.

  • Change management Support Change Management Lead to enable change and drive culture of continuous improvement throughout organization. Collaborate with other workstream leads and business leaders to resolve issues and ensure workstream and overall CFO 2020 goals are met. Characteristics and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 10+ years experience in program management with large scale program level projects in a matrix, collaborative organization

  • Self-motivated, comfortable working hands-on in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Experience with business process improvement and business process reengineering as well as acting as a change agent

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Highly effective communication skills (written and verbal), along with the ability to synthesize and convey complex materials to senior executives

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
